Most of the figures were bought and moved to Clark's Elioak Farm, then restored. One beautiful Sunday afternoon, when the boys had to watch the Vikings, Lucky and I spent a perfect day together at the new Enchanted Forest.
Rumor has it that a fairy tale castle still sits in place at a Safeway parking lot. And, for all you John Waters' fans, scenes from the movie Cry Baby starring Johnny Depp, was filmed in The Enchanted Forest.
We took a minute to run around The Awakening.
Lucky ran up the biggest, steepest hill I've ever seen. He struggled a bit, but did it, then lo and behold, he threw rocks off of it. I am sure some sort of historical battle took place on this hill, but none of us took the time to read the plaque.
On the way down Brad taught Lucky how to roll down a hill. There is hilarious video of this, but I am having a hard time loading it.
Saw Edgar Allan Poe's house, but the neighborhood proved to be rougher than us so we just did a drive-by.
I was pretty eager to go to Killer Trash. A store that John Waters gets most of his movie costumes and props. Piles of stuff dating back to the 50s. Despite their recorded hours, it was always closed.
Lucky got a quick game of chess in before we got on the road... Heading to Sweet Virginia.
By the way, sorry to hear of the snow in Minnesota. Beautiful 70 degree weather, here in Maryland. We have shorts on! Yipee!

that enchanted forest looked really enchanted!! lucky looks so big from the pictures!! o how i miss all of you!!
You guys can certainly find some odd places off the beaten track. And boo hoo to you and your shorts wearing weather. I have my sweatshirt on but not the heat yet. The only one that loved the snow that came down was Journey.. Go fiqure- he sat on the deck and had his nose in the air with the look of 'at last bring on the cold' Then he had to run all over the yard and come in the house to shake the snow off. Such a weird dog. Guess thats why he is a snow dog. (siberian husky for you who don't know him)
Does Lucky get to keep some of his treasures(the rocks) or do you make him empty his pockets and toss the rocks?
Tim was looking at the pics and being Tim he had 50 million questions about the 'Awakening' like 'What is it, who made it, why etc etc' Being Mom I said go find out.. ha as if.
