Washington D.C.

We happened to be in D.C. over Election Day. Thought it would be much more exciting than it was, as far as politician types dancing in the streets goes. In actuality, it was pretty subdued. Just your usual tourists taking snapshots of each other in front of the many monuments.

Your finished, buddy. You don't live here anymore...
Nope, more to the right... Up a little... To the left just a tiny bit... You still don't have it.
Great presidential beards in history...

Lucky's idea of a good monument is to run around as if it were playground equipment.
Hunter and Brad took a tour of the capital. Mike and I sat in the car with a really crabby Lucky that wouldn't just take a nap.
Last time Mike and I were in D.C. was in the spring and the cherry trees surrounding the Jefferson monument were in full bloom. Quite a sight. This time it was dark and rainy.
The Vietnam Wall at night. The names go on forever. 58,000 names on that wall.
There is lots of big bushes of Holly in bloom. It smells so good, just like lilacs.
(That's just for you, Joyce)
Ben's Chili Bowl is thick with history. You can read about it for yourself...
We stepped in a gave it a feeding frenzy of a historical hurt.
(the writing is on the bathroom wall)
The Museum of Crime and Punishment is new in D.C. and houses the live set of America's Most Wanted.
Grandma Hartung????
Leaving this museum, we walk out, only to find our car missing. Stolen? Nope, meter ran out and our car was towed a half mile away and was slapped with a hefty ticket. Crime and Punishment in effect.

In Georgetown, we climbed the same steps that the priest climbed in the movie The Exorcist.
Hunter jumped on the bus back to NYC and Mike and I ran off to see the circus on our last night in town.
This was the night after the election and it was definatly easy to feel the renewed spirit in the air. Everyone seemed to have a smile on their face and was just a little bit more nice to each other.
So, in the words of Tim Dupree and Team America World Police,
"America; Fuck Yeah!"

WOW What can I say - a Holly Bush just for me...and a picture of Grandma H. (who was that lady??). Was that Mikes writing on the tree for shame marking a tree like that. Glad you got to go see a Cirque Du Soliel was it a new one for you I know you've seen quite a few. Thanks again for the Holly pic. It is the season. "Tis the season to be jolly, smoke the dope and snort the holly fa lala la la-la la lala". hee hee

I don't know who that lady was. Some picture in the Crime and Punshiment museum. I thought it was funny. Not Mike's carving on the tree. And, yes a new Cirque Du Soliel for us. It was a really good one. Maybe one of the best.

We are glad to see a new comment
from you. We were starting to wonder if everything was ok.

We are having tacos in the trailor park tonight. They are fabulous!

Mayland then Virginia.

I think you should enter that picture of Lucky in front of the White House with the peace sign shirt on in a political photo contest(if they have those) It would win a prize.

How come we never get any guest blogs from the other travelers? Are they too lazy or drunk to type?
