Playa Del Carmen, Quintana Roo Mexico, Part Uno

Back home temps are in the negatives and the windchill is deadly. It's hard to sit on the beach in Mexico and complain that it's chilly. But it is.
The morning started out okay.
Our good friends are here, so the morning is perfect.
This is Maizie's first time in the ocean.
There is enough sun to set up camp and begin digging...
As the clouds moved overhead the tide picked up, heavy and hard. Fun for us, until the lifeguard warned us of the undercurrent and to keep the kids out.
Boo. . . Fine. We are really cold now, anyway.
The pool is even colder. Turned our lips purple. Wahahh...
Lucky's bubble bath is fit for a king and warms him right back up.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya
This whole resort is fit for a King.
For real. Ice Cream. 24/7
Tropical blue cocktails, were made for long walks on the beach...
Mexican Gothic
A busy highway...
...with a short pit stop to watch pirates dig for gold.
Final destination...
Good thing/Too bad we are not 18 and with/without good judgment.
Instead, we sat nicely. Drank responsibly...
...and watched the next generation as they took turns jumping
on an old rusty trampoline at their own "rick"...
...and made it rain...
This happened...
...down in the old town square.
Window shopping with machine gun clad guards is exciting...
Woo-Hoo!
...and maybe a little spooky...
...until big baby falls asleep. No stroller. Far away from bed.
Buenas noches mi amor...
Buenos días mi hermosa flor.
It's hot and humid outside and the sun is shining.
Xel-Ha Park, Riviera Maya is today's wonderment.
(Pronounced Shell-Ha)
A somewhat natural water park. Fun for all ages.
Provides snorkeling in an easy controlled environment...

...a lazy river that runs through a tunnel of mangrove trees and stops at zip-line towers. Action packed excitement for all. It about killed me not to be able to photograph our little sea creatures floating along in tubes and Lucky flying through the air and splashing into the water. Rest assure there was a big giant smile plastered all over his face. Mine too.
All your fantasies will come true. Ice Cream. Chicken Bones.
Whatever you desire. Magic.
...as for me. Guacamole for breakfast, lunch and dinner...
Lucky and I ran this obstacle course quite a few times.
Down a dueling water slide, then across the lily pads. He always won.
Then he beat Mike. Twice. Hard.
The Ewok Tree House Jungle Gym is every kid's dream come true...

We didn't have the time or little kid stamina to do every single thing Xel-Ha has to offer, like bike ride and underground cave snorkel or swim with the dolphins...
but, I'll bet everyone would agree that it was packed full of family time fun in the sun. Good times had by all. At least that's what they wrote in the big giant guest book.
Cheers to that.
A little late night beach action and another round of Moijtos...
 No rest for the wicked...
Maizie enjoys the booty-shaking bump and grind of resort entertainment...
...and Lucky's turn-ons include scaly-bone in fish, meat  and candy coated cake.
Run them fast and hard.
Que descanses...
Part dos is yet to come...
