Summer Vacation 2011 starts in our very own backyard. Well, across the river anyway... at the lovely fairgrounds in beautiful St.Paul.

Lucky and Axel were involved in a 3k walk for the
Children's Hospitals of Minnesota.

This particular walk was to raise money for the NICU
(neonatal intensive care unit).

Plenty of pit stops and photo ops along the way...

 Axel laughed his head off at the absurdity of these big ladies ...

 Lucky seems to have the weight of the world on his shoulders...

Our team leader took us across the finish line in a hot 45.

We did Ok

Axel spent a short stint at the Children's Hospital for a minor plyoric stenosis surgery, but this walk hits closer to home with Lucky who spent his first three weeks of life in the NICU and slept in a bed just like this one...

He was pretty proud that he raised a lot of money and was able to help out all the little teeny weeny babies just like him who happen to come into this world before they are ready.

Axel, do you ever feel like you are always on the outside looking in?

Good thing they fed us, because these big guys worked up an appetite and are ready to hit the road...
