Providenciales, Turks and Caicos

This bitter, cold Minnesota winter finally got the best of us. Time to lift the spirits. We got the whole family to pack up and fly the coop. Warmer weather and sunnier skies.
A tropical island located in the Turks and Caicos called Providenciales. 38 miles of pure paradise.
Rum punches upon arrival...
...and keep the fruity drinks coming, please.
The family friendly all-inclusive resort has a way of making a person feel like royalty.
We could usually be found in the pool...
...relaxing in our own private poolside cabana...
...or at the swim up bar.
Though, we were no stranger to the beach, either. The ocean was the perfect blue with sand like flour.

I love long walks on the beach...
...and more important, I love rum punches...
The resort went on forever...
And YES, this is the real color of the ocean...

Always something for everyone.
Lucky had breakfast with the characters...
...and later, a dance party...

We watched the Super Bowl at a tailgate party in the sand, with a guy who wore a homemade football helmet.
Lucky and I got some new artwork...
Needless to say, he enjoyed himself...
...A LOT.
We took a boat ride to Little Water Cay...
...better known as Iguana Island...

Little did we know, our same boat was also taking a group of people snorkeling...
The water was little to rough, for any of us...
It was fun watching them pull in all kinds of big conch, anyway.
The captain took us to a sucluded island for swim and a seashell hunt.
While we were playing in the sand, the captain and his first mate whipped up some conch salad with the fresh catch...
The guys all went deep sea fishing the next day. Mike caught a baracuda and somebody on the boat caught a shark...

We took in a few sights around the island, like the ticky tacky houses...
Under British law. You drive on the wrong side of the street...
Boats are commently seen washed way up on shore...
Perhaps remnants of past hurricanes.
Decaying conch shells, everywhere...

September 2008, hurricanes Hanna and Ike hit parts of the island, leaving most of it without a scratch, but not all of it. Conch World is a farm that is still in the process of rebuilding.
Facinating stone sculptures...

Obviously the Conch is the local fair on the island and Da Conch Shack gets theirs fresh from their own backyard.
They also serve up a wicked rum punch and a mean chicken curry.

Weather we were out and about around the island or the resort our beautiful butlers, Sherry Ann and Lemeisha always had something special waiting for us back at the suite. Like endless supplies of fresh fruit and cheeses...

They helped rescue Lucky from being locked in the bedroom...
Lucky loved Sherry Ann's towel art...
...and the special bubble baths she made, just for him.

Lemeisha even set up a special fire dance out at the cabana just for us...

One night happened to be Bob Marley's birthday. There was a beach party in his honor. Lot's of good jamacan food and music...
The week spent in tropical paradise certainly went way too fast. Nobody wanted to leave...
But, getting to board the airplane from the tarmack was pretty awesome....
So Hollywood...
Looks like Lucky's really growing accustom to all this travel, huh?
See ya in the Wild Wild West real soon, partner!
