Homeward Bound.

This is what Brad woke up to the morning we left for our long journey home.
He then made the snap decision to maintain a constant buzz for the remaining 32 hour drive. As if, 93 days with us wouldn't drive a person to drinkin' alone.
Mike has been the sole driver of the rig, the big rig, the RV, the riv, the camper, Lucky's house, all 6,841 miles. From start to finish. 18 states, 1 U.S. Capitol & 1 foreign country, Canada. Bravo.
The trusty red car came in close second with 6,669 miles. That is a grand total of 13,510 miles of traveled road. Accident free.

I am certain that my comic assery was always appreciated. What else could one do with a truck stop cob of caramel corn?
A quick night was spent in Nashville. The rig needed winterizing. We needed a little bbq and music to keep us warm as we watched the thermometer drop so drastically in such a short period of time.
No rest for the wicked... He travels very well.
The roads just kept getting uglier and uglier...
The only real note worthy event of the drive home surprisingly has no photos, since Sarah alone has taken 3,621 of them.
Anyhow, it happened only 3 1/2 hours from our promise land. Portage, WI. We pull over late at night to sleep in a Wal-mart parking lot. (Wal-mart allows RV boon docking, that's RV lingo for parking without hook-ups or paying). Back to the story, at 7:00 in the morning there was a knock on the door. Mike woke up and thought it was the security guard moving us along. He got up and started to drive, I started making coffee and shut the door to the back bedroom to let Brad sleep. We got on the freeway, when it occurred to me that the bed may have looked a little flat. Turns out, it was Brad getting up at 7:00 am (the earliest he has EVER gotten up in his life) to go into Wal-mart. His phone and wallet were left behind. He saw us leave and thought we were playing a joke on him, until he realized that we weren't stopping. He ran after us. Kept up for awhile, only to watch the rig pick up speed and turn the corner. Leaving him in the dust or should I say frost. Luckily we had this figured it out right away, but the first turn around wasn't for 9 miles. That is 18 whole miles of crappy, snowy, slow moving, road for poor Brad to be left standing there in the -2 below weather in nothing more than a sweatshirt (and pants).
Straight out of a movie, huh?
Well, it gets better. His buddies got the heads up that he was on his way home and stayed up until 2:00 in the morning drinking beer and painting this beauty on his wall...
What hilarity. Pure genius! And to think, they had no idea of our on-going joke with this black ceramic unicorn found in some crazy junk store for only one dollar. No need for details, I am sure you can figure it out. It was dirty. Just check your sheets before you go to bed.
As far as Mike, Lucky and I went, we wasted no time at all getting all the rv junk put away. Then, the first thing we did was run right up to the local church around the corner to pick out our Christmas tree...
Lucky likes the snow and can't wait for the big guy's arrival.
But, for the most part we haven't gotten out of our pajamas and really haven't left the comfort of our warm and cozy house.
Well, maybe just long enough to ask Santa for a few goodies. After all, he has been a really good boy this year.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!
Stay tuned for the upcoming family vacation to the Caribbean. Oooo... swimming suit pictures.

For every bathing suit picture you post, I'll post one of me in my suit. No sun, fun, or tan for me though. Just me, in my living room, with pasty dry skin.

Just kidding. I would never allow the internet to have a picture like that.

I don't know why, but one was never taken of the black unicorn. Everything else got photographed. Now, the poor little bugger is locked up in the RV waiting for the next round of travel. Maybe one day Brad will recieve a mystery package in the mail from somewhere out west....

HA!
