Houston, Texas ~ Part 1

On a routine stop for diesel, we spotted the rare half-wit muffler man. This maybe a good indication of what Texas is all about.
Lucky got a lot of playground time in after the long 6 hour drive from New Orleans to Houston.
Somewhere in a warehouse parking lot in the middle of the city, sits all the presidents...
...heads, that is.
...and the Beatles, too...

Each weighing in at approximately 7,000 pounds of concrete.
Still a Roosevelt Teddy after all these years...
I really have no explanation to this...

...but I can tell you the artist that has sculpted all these giants is named David Adickes.
These magnificent statues are truly a sight to see.
Later... these guys were spotted off the side of the freeway.
Mount Rushhour.
Houston is actually pretty rich with art...
...even in the ghetto.
Get your mind out of the gutter. It's the Field of Vision...
Some real finger lickin' good Texas bbq for lunch...
...next to the big armadillo, of course...
Beyond this beer can fence...
...is the beer can house...

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to prosper."
- Ben Franklin
Then there is the giant red saxophone made of an old WV Beetle...
That's all folks. Houston got us for 1 whole day. It's time to pack up and move along, little doggy.
That is if we don't run out of gas on this roadtrip, get chopped up and made into chili, first...

This is the gas station from the 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie...

Creepy ol' Leatherface.
