New Jersey

In New Jersey, we set up camp by a road called Gingerbread Castle Road. We had to drive down it. This is what we found. An old abandoned gingerbread castle and Dumpy Dumpy (that's Humpty Dumpty, in Lucky language).

Creepy.

We also got our mits dirty at White Mana, then the next day White Manna. Introduced in the 1939 New York's World Fair. The White Manna in Hackensack far out did the White Mana in Jersey City. Tiny little place with grease on the walls, put great big love in our tummies.

Hackensack, White Manna

Jersey City, White Mana
Drove through the hometown of the Boss. Bruce Springsteen. Asbury Park.

Atlantic City is nothing to write home about.
This is the boardwalk.
And, this is under the boardwalk. Way too cold and windy to sit on a blanket with my baby.
Then, Carrie flew home and Hunter jumped on board.

A couple miles out of Atlantic City in Margot is Lucy the Elephant. Built in 1881 and is a National Landmark. Once used as a summer home in 1902. She was really fun to climb in, even though we're voting for the donkey.
She's located right on the ocean. Another cold and windy walk blew Lucky right off his feet.
Further down the Jersey Shore is a town called Wildwood. It is such a bummer that we are a couple of weeks into the "off season". It looks like so much fun. Dubbed, Doo Wop USA. They have preserved all the old motels from the 50's and has a beautiful boardwalk with an amusement park. But, is was as empty as a ghost town.
Happy Trees.

Of course, we just had to eat here...

And, Brad and Hunter thought that they would be beards for each other.

There was this statue of a one legged man and his animal friends.
We spent Halloween Day on Sunset Beach in Cape May. The sun finally came out and warmed us up. Cape May is the southern most tip of New Jersey. There is an old rusty ship wreak out there. The beach is made up of a ton of smooth rocks. Lucky was in a trance, he could have tossed them in the ocean all day long.

What do ya know... One lonely gift shop open just for us.

Lucky was thrilled to go trick or treating. We have been talking about it for sometime. We took a couple dry runs the morning of. He tried so hard, but when the pressure was on and he actually had to say "trick or treat" and hold out his little bag, he just couldn't get the words out.
It was so cute and he was so polite.

Cape May has the most victorian houses in one town in the whole USA and comes in second to Las Vegas for the most weddings preformed. They are proud to have taken the lead from Niagara Falls.
He lives among us.

In that first picture of Lucky trick-or-treating, He looks like he's at the house that the aunts in Pushing Daisies live in.

I wish you were home. We're going to the 400 Bar to see The Spokes tonight. It should be fun!!!!!
